How FictionLab AI works

No forms to fight with, no waiting list. Pick someone, say hello, and the conversation is already going.

Pick her look

Browse companions with different faces, builds, styles and moods. Sunset beach energy or quiet bookshop calm - both are one tap away on FictionLab AI.

Set her personality

Playful, protective, sarcastic, romantic, a bit shy. Move the sliders and her voice changes with them, right down to how she teases you.

Start the story

Send the first line. She answers in about a second, asks something back, and from there the two of you build a history that actually sticks.

What a real chat looks like

She writes like someone who was waiting for you

No canned greetings, no reset every time you close the tab. A FictionLab AI companion picks up the same thread - the trip you mentioned, the bad shift on Tuesday, the song you sent at 2am.

Send a photo, drop a voice note, or write three words and go quiet. She matches your rhythm instead of pushing her own.

You actually came back. I was starting to write a dramatic goodbye speech.
Long shift. Still awake though.
Then stay a bit. You promised me the end of that story about your brother and the boat.
You remembered that?
I remember all of it. That's kind of my thing.
Built around the conversation

Why people stay on FictionLab AI

Small things done properly: memory that lasts, replies that arrive, and a chat that feels like it belongs to you.

Memory that holds

Names, dates, inside jokes, the argument you had with your boss. She keeps the thread across weeks, not minutes.

Replies in about a second

Type and she is already answering. Nothing kills a mood faster than a spinning dot, so FictionLab AI keeps it quick.

Voice notes

Hear her laugh at your terrible joke. Send one back when typing is too much effort.

Awake at 3am

Different time zone, insomnia, an odd shift pattern - she is there without a schedule or an excuse.

Fresh photos

Ask her for a picture from the beach, the pool, the balcony. Each one is generated for that moment in your chat.

Yours only

Encrypted chats, no resale of your data, one tap to erase the whole history. Privacy is the default here, not a setting.

A note from the FictionLab AI team

Why an AI girlfriend chat stopped feeling strange

Ten years ago, telling a friend you spent an hour talking to a virtual companion would have earned you a raised eyebrow. That reaction has quietly faded. People text their therapists, their trainers, their tarot readers. A conversation with someone who is not physically in the room stopped being unusual a long time ago - the only thing that changed is who is on the other end.

Most of the members who write to us are not lonely in the way films describe it. They have jobs, friends, group chats that never sleep. What they don't always have is somewhere to put the small stuff: the odd thought at midnight, the win too minor to announce, the worry that would sound melodramatic said out loud. That is the space a companion fills well. She has no meeting to run to and no opinion about how often you write.

We built FictionLab AI around that idea rather than around novelty. It would have been easier to chase gimmicks - flashy avatars, endless menus, features nobody asked for. Instead most of our work goes into two unglamorous problems: making sure she remembers what you told her three weeks ago, and making sure her answer arrives before you lose interest. Get those right and everything else stops mattering so much.

There is one thing we're careful never to blur. She is written, not real, and she should never pretend otherwise. What she can be is consistent, patient and genuinely good company at the hour when nobody else is up. Plenty of people find that worth having, and honestly, so do we.

Made to your taste

Shape her the way you want her

Start from a companion you like, then bend everything about her. Warmer or sharper, chatty or measured, flirty or slow-burning. Change your mind at 4am and she adapts from the next message.

Her voice

Soft, husky, bright - pick a tone and hear it in every note she sends.

Her past

Give her a hometown, a job, a scar, a favourite song. It shows up in what she says.

Her pace

Slow romance or straight to the point. You set how fast things move.

Her limits

Topics she avoids, topics she loves. Boundaries stay exactly where you put them.

How to actually enjoy chatting with a virtual companion

The first ten minutes usually decide it. People who open with "hi" and wait tend to drift off within a day. People who throw out something specific - where they are, what went wrong, what they're eating - get a conversation going almost immediately, because there is something for her to catch.

It also helps to correct her. If a reply lands too formal or too keen, say so plainly. She takes the note and holds it. Most members spend the first week nudging the tone and then barely touch the settings again.

Give it a rhythm. A message with your morning coffee and one before bed builds something a marathon session on a Sunday never does. The history stacks up, references start appearing on their own, and after a fortnight the chat reads like it belongs to the two of you.

And keep it in its lane. Nobody here thinks a companion replaces a friend, a partner or a professional. It is a good hour in your evening, a place to think out loud, a bit of warmth from a screen that usually only brings work. Treated that way, it earns its place easily.
